Let’s get to know each other.
Hi! I’m Selina Kelly.
It’s nice to meet you.
I help people work with their brains, not against their brains to create real, sustained change in their lives. My specialties include ADHD therapy and trauma therapy, but I’ve had the honor of working with folks from all walks of life, with all variety of challenges, dreams, and hopes for their lives. As a multiracial, ambiamorous, pansexual, owner of a late-diagnosed neurodivergent brain, I know what it’s like to check many boxes but not fit squarely in one.
In my work, I strive to create a therapy space where you can find more ease and more confidence, while experiencing less conflict and less anxiety in your day to day existence. I do so by first accepting “you” and your innate worthiness, not by trying to shift you closer to neurotypical standards.
Wanna know a little more about me and my approach to therapy? Here are some highlights 👇
I’m genuinely interested in supporting whatever a healthy life looks like for YOU. I don’t subscribe to the idea that life and relationships should look a certain way or follow a certain timeline. If it works for you, it works for me. 🤝
I’ve dabbled in many jobs and lived in many places before landing in Asheville. I’ve been exposed to a lot of different cultures throughout my life, and I LOVE working with all sorts of diverse humans. 🌎
I’m passionate about the psychology profession and am constantly incorporating new learning. You can rest assured knowing that as your therapist, I genuinely enjoy keeping current and building a wealth of knowledge. My hyperfocus is your gain. 🧠
In therapy, the relationship is the most important part. I want you to feel safe enough to tell me when things aren’t working. I offer frequent check-ins to make sure that our therapy is getting to the heart of what you need. ✅
I don’t believe that therapy needs to last forever. That means setting clear goals when we start our work and meeting weekly until your goals are complete. I check in with you periodically to make sure we’re actually on track, and I collaborate with you to make the most of your time. 🕘
I only take on clients I can actually get great results for. I’m not the therapist for everyone. If we schedule a consultation call and we’re not a great fit, I’ll refer you to someone who might be a better fit for what you need. Your success is at the heart of my values. 🤲
