Learn to work with your brain and not against it, heal from past traumas that are weighing you down, get a grasp on ADHD, and expand your capacity for joy in all the most beautiful ways.

You don’t have to keep living life on hard mode.

How often do you make it to the end of the day absolutely exhausted from being so scattered — feeling like you’re running in circles and just can’t get a grasp on your life?

Things seem to be harder for you than everyone else, even if it looks like you “have it all together”.

Your energy is all over the place, your sleep is wonky, and your relationships are hit or miss — filled with conflict and the fear of disappointing others (or being disappointed). As you lay down at the end of each day, you wonder,

“Is this really what life is all about? Couldn’t there be another way?”

The short answer is: yes. There is another way.

Hi, I’m Selina. I’m a therapist in Asheville.

I help people work with their brains, not against them.

My passion for counseling lies in its power to change individual lives, as well as the social narrative.

I believe that it’s entirely possible to experience actual relief in your day-to-day life. Not only that, but I believe that by helping people to accept themselves more fully (neurotype, identity, warts & all) we can create a world in which we can all breathe a bit easier.

I know this because I’ve been through it myself.

Growing up, I was highly sensitive to the troubles of the world and the needs of those around me. I tried to be perfect, to fit myself into boxes too small, and to live my life according to the wishes of others. I was afraid to make waves and yet I felt constantly numb and stifled inside.

I excelled in some ways and worked so, so hard to keep up in others. Through the journey of therapy, embodiment practices, and plain old life experiences, I slowly came to understand my brain, my body, and myself.

I designed a life of better alignment with myself as I am — not as I think I “should be” —

and I’m here to help you to do the same.

My Specialties

Therapy for ADHD & Neurodivergence

Living with ADHD can sometimes feel like the world just wasn’t built for you. This can cause a whole host of challenges and might bring up some tough feelings like anger, frustration, confusion, and guilt. When we work together in therapy for ADHD, my main goal is to help you learn how to accept yourself and your brain just as you are, release the negative beliefs you’ve developed about yourself as a result of your ADHD, and find ways to spend more time playing to your unique strengths.

Therapy for Trauma, Anxiety, & Depression

Even if we look fine on the outside, the impact of difficult experiences and trauma throughout our lives can create a pervasive sense of heaviness, emptiness, fear, or general lack of trust in the world. These experiences can also make things like depression and anxiety worse. Through therapy for trauma, anxiety and depression, my main goal is to help my clients heal and integrate past pain so that they can feel safe, loved, worthy, and ready to take on life’s challenges again.
